100k a week, it reads, plus a 3 million extra signing bonus, making him the highest earner at the club.
Juan Mata is on 90k!
Surely Theo's inconsistency should affect his wage? More importantly that's what Arsenal needs most too, consistency.
But I'm happy with the deal. Partly because Wenger hasn't spend the money we put into Gazidis' pocket with the most expensive ticket in the Premier League. It was a good start.
Here are my points as to why:
It shows that Wenger's proving we are not a seller club all the time
Prove that we have the ability and quality to keep one of our most influential players at the moment.
The above points can make it easier for us to attract players since we have the consistency that players committed to the club. At least the good start of it.
And last but not least, as Wenger said, 'Walcott will be a better player when he committed.'
Theo is currently our top goal scorer this season with two hat-tricks ( 7-5 Reading and 7-3 Newcastle)
and another 11 goals, most importantly, 12 assists.
He can be playing explosively in the last match and stay silent in the next one, that for me will change.
The 100k will satisfy him and the club, making him confortable and surely will be consistent from now on in my opinion.
All eyes will be on him this week at Stamford Bridge, but I will tell you, Theo can't play in the middle.
What's your opinion? Comments are much appreciated!
